The Ambassador of the Year Award is given to the Ambassador who displayed extraordinary commitment to the Chamber and its members by participating in the most specified events during the past year. For his attendance at more than 50 Business After Hours and Ribbon Cuttings at our members' facilities, helping on special events and projects, and working on the Ambassador committee, Joe Follrath of Quizno's in Downtown Elgin received this recognition for 2008.

One of the greatest benefits of being a member of the Elgin Area Chamber is the privilege of attending any and all of our numerous Business After Hours, Ribbon Cuttings and New Member Orientations - and by numerous I mean events happening virtually every week of the year! Our Chamber prides itself not only on the quantity of networking opportunities, but also the quality of our attendees and event hosts. Our Business After Hours are well attended by a great diversity of fellow members, from the largest corporations to the smallest home-based businesses; from financial, education, retail, social services, medical, restaurants and technology to personal services, housing, automotive, real estate, fine arts and more. The opportunity to cultivate key relationships is made fun with creative themes, behind the scenes tours, wonderful foods, drinks and door prizes!

Ambassadors are your link to success at any event. We are here to help you network by cheerfully facilitating introductions and conversations, help the host with pre-event tips, guidelines and resources, and help the Elgin Area Chamber continue to be your key networking source.
