Ambassador CommitteeAmbassadors are often the first link new members have with the Chamber. Our goal is to help members feel welcome and comfortable with the Chamber and provide information about the various Chamber services. Members of Ambassadors attend ribbon-cutting ceremonies to welcome new businesses to the area and are available to new members to answer any questions they may have. The Ambassadors Committee is the official host of all Chamber events and have the responsibility to be Chamber advocates for all members. One of the most important aspects of this is introducing new Members to existing ones and serving as a liaison for Member-to-Member networking.
Meeting Time: First Friday Wednesday of the month at 8:15 a.m. at the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce office
Board of Directors
The Elgin Area Chamber is governed by a Board of Directors. Our board is dedicated individuals who enjoy living/working in the community that they serve. They come from unique backgrounds and bring with them years of industry wisdom as well as dedicated to see this community thrive. Board members are eager to participate and help shape a better tomorrow for the region.
Board members serve 3-year terms and may serve two consecutive terms before they must take a mandatory year-off from service. This term limit helps ensure that new leadership and ideas come to the Board and the Chamber. Chamber Presidents may serve one or two-year terms.
The Golf Committee is built specifically for our Annual Golf Tournament held each August. If you enjoy event planning and have experience with golf tournaments (or simply like playing in them) this is the committee for you. Area business owners and guests spend a fun-filled day golfing and dining at one of Elgin's premier golf courses. Prizes, contests, and networking are just a part of this special day.
Hablamos Espanol Expo
The Committee is built specifically for our Hablamos Espanol Expo held each September. Hablamos Español Expo is an annual showcase of business products and services with the intent of building the bridge with the Hispanic consumer. Open to businesses interested in connecting with the Hispanic market, this high energy, family friendly event spotlights the Hispanic culture in the Elgin area with mariachis, and other family fun activities throughout the day. Hablamos Español Expo leverages branding and marketing opportunities, while benefiting from business-to-business and business-to-consumer networking.
