Immaculée Ilibagiza, Best Selling Author and Rwandan Genocide Survivor, to speak at St. Thomas More Church
Immaculée Ilibagiza, a Rwandan genocide survivor and New York Times best-selling author of Left To Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Genocide, is scheduled to speak about faith, hope, love and forgiveness at St. Thomas More Parish in Elgin on May31st from 5:00pm – 9:00pm and June 1st from 9:00am – 12:30pm. Tickets are $57.00-individual ticket or $76.00-two tickets. In 1994, members of the Hutu tribe in Rwanda took up arms against the Tutsi tribe. In only 100 days, they slaughtered over 800,000 Tutsis using only spears, clubs and machetes. It was genocide, and few Tutsis survived. Immaculee Ilibagiza was one of the few. Ilibagiza is regarded as one of world's leading speakers on peace, faith, and forgiveness.
