Big Timber Pumpkin Fest Celebrates October with SIX Different Events, Beginning This Weekend
ELGIN, IL (September 30, 2020) – Make no bones about it, Three Fires Council, Boy Scouts of America has created a surefire way to make October 2020 stand out as one of the best. Throughout the entire month, Camp Big Timber at 37W955 Big Timber Road, Elgin, Illinois, will be transformed into the Big Timber Pumpkin Fest.  Casting a web of memorable events, there’s something for everyone – from children to the young at heart. Proceeds will be used to fund the programs Three Fires Council, BSA offers to its male and female youth members.
“We’ve found a way to bring families, couples, and friends together with something that interests everyone, while being outside and maintaining health and safety,” said David George, an organizer of the Big Timber Pumpkin Fest and member of the Three Fires Council Board of Directors.
Clint Scharff, Three Fires Council Scouting Executive added, “Our mission is twofold. We want to provide programs that engage people – both our members and members of the community – in fun, social, and safe experiences. This month-long festival certainly will provide memorable occasions for all. This is also a Council FUNdraiser, which will enable us to offer additional resources to the boys and girls in our program and provide more opportunities to build their characters and leadership skills.”
The Big Timber Pumpkin fest will host six different, yet deliciously exciting events:

    • Barrel & Bones
    • Sip & Carve
    • Family Fall Fest
    • Terror In The Timbers

Terror In The Timbers – Weekends in October, Beginning October 2
In collaboration with BMC Productions, this full production, drive-thru, no-contact haunting experience will leave thrill seekers terrified. Three Fires Council has transformed Camp Big Timber into the most horrifying entertainment experience available in the Chicagoland area. The storyline is based on the true story of Dr. H.H. Holmes, a prolific serial killer who preyed on women who came to the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893… BMC added on to the story, indicating that H.H Holmes buried his victims at Camp Big Timber – and now he’s back to reclaim the remains.  Tickets start at $65 / vehicle (4 passengers).  Recommended for children 10 and over; a “horror lite” version of the haunt is available upon request.

    Brew Fest – October 24
Guests 21 and older may enjoy the colorful leaves and fall beauty of Camp Big Timber as they relax in an assigned 10-person Bier Garden, either at the afternoon or evening session. Between the music and the beer from several breweries, guests will enjoy a rockin’ good time. Food truck options are also available to purchase eats from favorite restaurants. Tickets start at $40 and may be purchased individually or as an entire Bier Garden.
