• Connect Illinois Broadband

In an effort to identify gaps, guide investment and tailor broadband planning to boost access to high-speed internet services, today Governor Pritzker and the DCEO Office of Broadband announced a new interactive Connect Illinois Broadband Mapping and creation of the Illinois Broadband Lab. Through a collaborative effort including universities and key stakeholders, the new mapping tool combines data from local broadband providers, Illinois households, and field testing of available bandwidth. In addition, the Illinois Broadband Lab will house hundreds of PDF maps, providing various perspectives, and integrating complementary data sets, related to broadband access today.
These resources enhance broadband investment and build on the administration’s historic $420 million Connect Illinois broadband infrastructure plan, part of Rebuild Illinois, designed to bring affordable, reliable broadband connectivity for every household, community and business across the state.
Illinois residents, community planners and other stakeholders are invited to utilize the lab, to help develop and improve local plans.  Access these tools and other resources through the Illinois Broadband Lab.
