|Kane County Business Grant Program "Round Two" Now Accepting Applications
Kane County is now accepting grant applications from local businesses in need of financial assistance due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Today they launched “Round Two” of the county’s Business Grant Program.
The Kane County Board appropriated $5 million for this initiative from its Coronavirus Relief Fund. Eligible businesses may apply for up to $25,000 to cover certain expenses from 3/1/2020 to 12/30/2020. (Businesses that applied under Round One are welcome to apply under Round Two.)
More information, including a link to our web-based application portal, is posted on the county’s Coronavirus Relief Fund page. There is a dedicated telephone number and email address for this important program and staff are ready to field inquiries:

For businesses that would benefit from one-on-one assistance or might lack adequate technology to complete our on-line application, the County is making computer and scanning technology available free of charge at their office in downtown Batavia. Please note the service is available by appointment only in order to ensure strict compliance with COVID-19 screening and distancing standards. Applicants will be able to bring their financial and expense documentation to the office where it can be digitally scanned for upload to our application portal.
In order to be eligible, businesses must be for-profit and have a physical place of business within Kane County. They must have been established on/before January 1, 2020, have experienced a decline in revenue and/or increase in expenses since March 1, 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and be in good standing with federal, state and local standards and requirements.
Businesses may apply for up to $25,000 to cover certain operating expenses and costs associated with responding/adapting to the COVID-19 health emergency. The county has streamlined the process for Round Two in order to assist as many businesses as possible. Businesses that participated in Round One may apply under Round Two, provided they have eligible expenses that were not already reimbursed by the county or another source of financial assistance.
Applicants should review the Program Guidelines and Application Instructions for additional terms and conditions. All applications must be completed using the ZoomGrants application portal established for this initiative. Submissions will be reviewed and funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-eligible, first-served basis. While an application deadline has not been established for the Round Two program, the county anticipates closing the application portal when funds are exhausted, or when it is no longer feasible to process applications and issue awards before the end of calendar year 2020.
