ELGIN – This year, Ecker Center for Behavioral Health is replacing its annual fundraising gala with a unique on-line Gifts That Give Back auction.  The on-line auction will take place Saturday, November 14th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“This is a great chance to get some holiday shopping done while simultaneously benefiting a great cause,” said Kay Catlin, fundraising manager for Ecker Center. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the programs and services of Ecker Center.

The auction items run the gamut from traditional to quirky to just plain fun, she said.  There is also a selection of fully-decorated 4-ft. Christmas trees ready for display in the home or office.

All gifts and trees are currently being showcased at Ecker Center for those who would like to preview the featured options in person.  Drop-ins can see the display mornings from Nov. 9th through November 13th by simply visiting Ecker Center and checking in at Reception on the 2nd floor.  Appointments are also being taken by emailing kcatlin@eckercenter.org. There will also  be on-site help available the day of the auction.

Those participating in the auction must first register at:

“This is a new venture for us and we’re hoping for great results.  We’re kind of famous for our silent auctions so we’re counting on a good crossover from in person to virtual.”
