    School District U46 recently received $22 million in new state education funding under the state’s new funding formula. The school board is likely to hold multiple meetings to get public input on how to reinvest in our schools.

    Congrats to Elgin Industries who has earned recognition as a Partner-level supplier for 2017 for the sixth year in a row and is a first -year recipient of the Power Systems Supplier of the Year in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program.  Elgin is a leading global manufacturer of engine and chassis components and provides internal engine components to multiple John Deere locations worldwide.
     
    Celebrating 100 Years: Congrats to American NTN Bearing Corporation on celebrating its 100th anniversary. The firm came to Elgin in 1975 and has expanded eight times. A trusted leader in OEM bearing products for the biggest names in the industry, the firm is among the top ten employers in Elgin.

    Grand Victoria Casino: Eldorado Resorts announced plans to buy the casino for $327.5 million. The Reno, Nevada-based company announced its part of a $1.85 billion deal involving two other companies that will add the operating assets of seven casinos in six states to the Eldorado portfolio.

    Advocate Sherman Hospital: The Advocate Health Care and Aurora Health Care merger was recently closed creating Advocate Aurora Health, the 10th-largest nonprofit health system in the U.S. operating more than 500 sites of care and 27 hospitals.
