• THE PROPHET Feature Film to Screen at First UMC Elgin

    Mark Iverson, the writer, and director of the movie "For Prophet", is a longtime member of  Our Saviour's United Methodist Church in Schaumburg and has known Elgin District Superintendent Rev. Murph-Heath most of his life. Filming took place at Our Saviour's and First UMC in Elgin, as well as at several locations throughout Elgin. The screening will take place in Rogers Hall on the lower level of First UMC Elgin, 216 E. Highland Ave., Elgin. No tickets necessary.

       For Prophet is a feature-length motion picture written, directed, and produced by Mark Stewart Iverson (MSI Films) and produced by Enrico Natale (Redbird Entertainment). Principal photography occurred almost exclusively in Elgin, IL, during the summer of 2019.
       The story follows Damon Fisher, a struggling entrepreneur, as he encounters the Archangel Raphael, who reveals him to be chosen by The Most High God as a part-time prophet and tasks him to save his crumbling and corrupt hometown of Mt. Zion.

       The First United Methodist Church of Elgin will be hosting two showings of FOR PROPHET on Sunday, July 18th, 2021, @ 12 pm (noon) and 4 pmThe event is free; however, donations are welcome, with all proceeds going to FUMC - Elgin and their pandemic relief effort.
