JOB POSTING

EAC President and CEO

Thank you for your interest in joining the team at the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce.

We are looking for a new President & CEO.

This is a full-time, in-office position at our downtown Elgin location.

As the leader of our vibrant chamber, you will work among our dedicated Board of Directors, talented staff, committed volunteers, and our 600+ engaged member businesses and organizations. At a pivotal moment in our history, your vision will contribute to the local economy in Elgin and South Elgin, and your voice will influence our business community and leaders now and in the future.

An exceptional communicator, our ideal candidate thinks strategically, listens carefully, and excels at building relationships. Ideally, you'd feel comfortable serving as the public face of the Chamber at networking and community gatherings, making introductions and emceeing the occasional event. And you should be enthusiastic about supporting the needs of businesses of all sizes and industries—bonus points if you have a knack for remembering names and faces.

You’ll be joining our small-but-mighty staff, collaborating each day with members, local leaders, policy makers, and partner organizations to invest in the economic development and health of our communities. We will work together to make sure our members view us as their greatest advocate, understand the value of their membership, and know they are genuinely cared for.

We’re a small not-for-profit, so you’ll get to wear a lot of hats and are likely to discover many opportunities to experiment with new ideas. Our ideal candidate will be excited about expanding our organization and building a healthy, encouraging company culture.
