The week of September 9-13 has been designated as Illinois Chamber of Commerce Week and to mark the occasion the Elgin Area Chamber will be bringing you valuable and engaging activities all week long!
On Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. our Elgin Area Small Business Academy will for a free workshop: Preparing a Social Media Plan for Your Business. You’ll learn to navigate and understand the world of social media and how you can leverage that world for the benefit of your business. Dee Reinhardt from Time2Mrkt will help you through the maze and identify what resources you should focus your on to maximize your organization.
Want to do Business with the State of Illinois? Attend this free workshop and learn how to on Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at The Centre of Elgin Heritage Ballroom at 100 Symphony Way. Learn the process, benefits and advantages of becoming a Business Enterprise Program (BEP) Certified Vendor with the State of Illinois. BEP assists businesses owned by minorities, women and people with disabilities gain access to the State’s procurement process. Co-sponsored by the City of Elgin and EAC, the workshop will be presented in both English and Spanish BY THE Dept, of Commerce & Economic Opportunity.

If so, then EARN is for you! Come have breakfast with our Elgin Area Referral Network (EARN) group on Thursday, Sept. 12 from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at Alexander’s Café, 1725 N State Street (Rt. 31). The members-only non-competing networking group meets regularly to generate new business for fellow members through a system of referrals and leads.
On Thursday, September 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at our Chamber office for a special Open House. Members are welcome to drop-in for a light lunch to mingle with other members, enjoy delicious food featuring our members, have a new head and should picture taken by James Harvey Photography (schedule with us), sign-up to be part of our upcoming 2020 Chamber Directory, and meet the Chamber Executive Committee.
