LOCAL FIRMS TEAM UP FOR ANNUAL BOWLING EVENT RAISING OVER $110,000 FOR MAKE-A-WISH® ILLINOIS
Elgin, IL: January 20, 2018 - What started out as a friendly competition between local companies, Mueller CPA, Plote Construction, and John B. Sanfilippo & Son’s annual ‘Bowling for Wishes Event’ has impressively morphed into a major fundraiser for Make-A-Wish® Illinois raising a total of $288,000 and granting 48 wishes in its first three years.
This year’s event, which took place at Bowlero in Algonquin, continued to show promising participation from their employees and guests with over 200 participants. Each team, equipped with bowling shirts and shoes competed not only on the lanes but also leading up to the event by encouraging employees to donate and set-up their own personal fundraising pages.
David J. Nissen, Managing Partner of Mueller stated, “The amount of selflessness all of our participants have shown these past three years is truly amazing. This event has grown into something bigger than I could have ever imagined and that is due to all of our fantastic employees, their guests, and their pure dedication to this charity.”
Thanks to the combined efforts of Mueller, Plote, and John B. Sanfilippo guests were able to donate even more to the cause once arriving through a silent auction, 50/50 split, and raffle prizes featuring a plethora of gift baskets, event tickets, and more.
To conclude the event a Make-A-Wish recipient family as well as a Make-A-Wish employee spoke about the impacts that all three companies have had and encouraged them to keep making a difference for the children the organization grants wishes for.
Nissen said “Dan Plote, President of the Hoffman Estates based construction company, Jeffery Sanfilippo, owner of the Elgin based nut product processing company and myself are immensely gratified with the results of the competition once again. We want to thank our employees, colleagues, and friends for their generous support year after year. We would not have accomplished what we have for this charity without you.”
