    Elgin, IL - The City of Elgin Parks and Recreation Department announces the opening of the Wing Park Family Aquatic Center on Saturday, June 5. The pool will be open through Sunday, August 8.

    Hours of operation 
    Open swim: Sunday-Thursday 12:00-6:00 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 12:00-7:30 p.m.
    Lap swim: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:30-11:30 a.m.
    Morning rentals: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
    Evening rentals: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Friday, Saturday 8:00-10:00 p.m.

    Season passes will not be offered this season; open swim and lap swim will be by daily admissions only. Find admission fees and more information at cityofelgin.org/wingparkpool.

    The Wing Park Family Aquatic Center will open with operations following the Restore Illinois Plan's Bridge Phase guidelines, which allows for 60% capacity. Unvaccinated guests are required to wear masks when they are not engaging in swimming activities. Staff is prepared to adjust operations once the state enters Phase 5, expected on June 11, removing current capacity limits.

A true gem of the community, the Edward Schock Centre of Elgin, is located downtown and includes a fitness center, track, racquetball and basketball courts, three swimming pools, a rock climbing wall, banquet facility, preschool center, ceramics studio and birthday party rooms. With programming options available to people of all ages and interests, the facility receives over 800,000 visitors each year. Children, teens, adults and seniors make friends and memories participating in the camps, programs and classes, like swimming, soccer, aerobics, ceramics and yoga.
     
    The  department also operates three golf courses that that are suited for players of all experience levels: Wing Park Golf Course, the Highlands of Elgin Golf Course and Bowes Creek Country Club. These award-winning courses attract golfers from all over the country to play.
     
    The Elgin Sports Complex, located just south of U.S. Route 20, offers 10 softball fields, 10 soccer fields, a BMX track, regularly drawing thousands of visitors to the Elgin.
